Karen and Paul's 50th Birthday
Karen booked me for her joint 50th Birthday party with her husband, Paul to be held at the Royal Oak pub in New Malden,Surrey.Karen teaches a spin class at my Gym and is a great fan of Eighties music so the theme of the evening is Eighties fancy dress. Lots of guests had arrived by 7.45pm which was great as the disco was finishing at quite an early time of 11pm because of the local residents. On Karen's play list were Wham,Bronski beat,Communards,Human League,Soft Cell,Duran Duran,Prince,Grandmaster Flash and ABC from the Eighties and some Nineties/Noughties sounds like Jinny,The Shamen,Black Box,Technotronic,Take That and Faithless.A few background tunes were played from my Summer collection including Banarama,Central Line,DJ Jazzy Jeff and Abba's Summer night city.Karen's daughter Tia is a big Michael Jackson fan so i played Rock with you,Pretty Young Thing,I want you back(Jackson 5) and Blame it on the boogie. Towards the end Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday went down a treat with nearly all the guests joining in,to finish some chessey songs with the Macarena,Bucks Fizz's making your mind up and Wham,s classic I'm your man.A good time was had by all
