Radford contacted me prior to his wife(Joanna) birthday bash to be held at the Anglers public house in Walton upon Thames in the first floor function room.
I met Radford a month or so before to look at where to set up and to meet who i would be working for!
The staff on the day were really freindly and informed me about the parking arrangements and exactly where to set up on the night
On the night,June 11th the weather was brilliant and regular uysers of the Anglers were sitting by the river enjoying there drinks.
Radford and Joanna and a couple of other family guests arrived about 7.30pm and we had nearly set up by then ,I started playing some background music then went staight into the summer sounds as it was such a glorious night, these included Kool and the gang-Too hot,Lonyo-Summer of love,Central line-Walking into sunshine,Pm Dawn-set adrift on memory bliss and Martha nad the vandellas-Heatwave.
Most of the guessts arrived by 8.30pm and things gradually livened up,a very entertining night especially as it was fancy dress fro Seventies and Eighties, with some impressive outfits including Adam Ant,Tom Cruise and Jeff Lyne!
A great play list was given to me from Radford which included Bee Gees-Staying alive, michael Jackson-Billie Jean and Beat it,Adam and Ants a few palyed for the runner up in the fasncy dress,Abba-Mama Mia,Dancing Queen,Waterloo,Aha-The sun always shines on TV and Take on me,Madonna-Live a virgin and Holiday,Duran Duran-Planet earth and Sister Sledge-We are family and many others.
There was a lot of interest when my Seventies set came on including Jo Tex,Bee Gees,Edwin Star,Abba,Sister Sledge and Queen.
Radford had a favourie inthe Beastie Boys-Fight for your right and the Birthday girl joined in,the last song was at 11.40pm as any longer would annoy the residents!
The guests went home (in the end) and all seemed tom have a really great night.
