Sam and Sarah contacted me in October as i had been reccomended to them by Malden Golf Club where i had worked several times including New Years Eve two years ago. They were planning their staff party for 70 or so staff at the Malden Golf Club, the evening was on a Friday (21st December) so people could have the option of popping in staright from work which is very local.
The bar soon filled up with a mixed age range from mid twenties to mid sixties, i played a wide range of music through the night starting with some mid Eighties soul/funk from Phylis Hyman-You know how to love me,Sunfire-Young free and single,Jerome-I'm into your love and a new mix of the Diana Ross classic Ain't no mountain high enough. As more guests arrived i put on a few Christmas songs,Donna Summer-Winter Melody,Love unlimited Orchestra-It may be Winter outside and David Essex-Only a Winters tale. The buffet was annmounced soon after and this led the guests to an another part of the function room so i played some Seventies background music until they came back.
From 10pm until midnight most guests had got on to the dance floor having fun dancing to the likes of The four seasons,Billy Ocean,The weather girls,Jocelyn Brown,Mc Fadeen and Whitehead,Abba,Black Eyed Pees,Van Morrison,Justin Timberlake,Jess Glynne and many more party tunes including some Christmas classics from Mariah Carey,Slade,Wizzard and Wham.
Carriages arrived around midnight and the party finished with everyone in a good mood for Christmas
