Victoria and Jim booked me for their evening entertainment at the famous Royal Automobile Club in Epsom,Woodcote Side.
The plan was for me to set up early at 1pm and come back at 6.30pm to start playing from 9pm until midnight ,we set up by 2pm with no problems and at Victoria's request i provised additional up lighters placed around the Cedar room where i was playing.
As with many weddings they ran late so when we got back the speeches were still in full flow ,we met the singing waiters who named themselves the Tailored Tenors who had been entertaining the happy couple and their guests during the afternoon.A very talented couple who had sang at many top shows and performed with Queen and Marty Pellow amongst others, they eventually sang the first song for Victoria and Jim to dance to and then carried on for twenty minutes or so.
My turn to play and i started with John Paul Young and Love is in the air followed by Donna Summers Hot Stuff with a few more Seventies classics.
The Tailored Tenors then came back on for a longer set of about forty minutes which they managed to get most of the audience up and dancing again.
It was back to me to take the party to midnight, the aduience wewre a bit slow at first but all was good in the last hour or so where most got up to a boogie to S Club 7,Wham,Billy Ocean,Gloria Gaynor,Abba,Barry Manilow,The four tops, some Diana Ross, finishing off with The Monkees,a couple from the Eagles and Elvis Presley's The wonder of you.
